Legacy by Nelson Fernando – Boutique Villa Website

This project was born out of a love story across generations – a father’s dream, a son’s tribute, and a family’s legacy brought to life in rural Sri Lanka. I worked with the client to craft a brand story rooted in nature, heritage, and timeless design, while translating this into a Webflow site that is not only beautiful but also technically optimized.

I used the Mason Manor Webflow template as a foundation and completely reworked its content, structure, and styling to fit the emotional depth and rustic elegance of the villa. The brand voice was developed to feel warm and personal – like a story shared around a dinner table.

Key tasks included:

• Story-driven UX copywriting & layout structure based on a detailed brand narrative
• Full visual identity adaptation (colors, typography, design motifs) to reflect vintage, natural charm
• Integration of brand voice and local elements like antique furniture, paddy fields, bamboo groves, and the Ahinsa Foundation story

The site was originally built in Webflow, but I had to manually transfer it to Hostinger (a first-time task for me), as the client already had their hosting and domain set up there. This included:

• Exporting Webflow code
• Adjusting the site for Hostinger environment (including form handling & domain DNS setup)
• Ensuring that all design interactions and responsiveness were preserved post-transfer

Despite working outside the native Webflow hosting, I ensured the final site remains lightweight, responsive, and SEO-optimized. Thanks to modern media handling, semantic structure, and performance optimization techniques (like image compression and minimal DOM), the site now achieves 96+ PageSpeed score on desktop and excellent results in all Lighthouse categories, including 100 in SEO.

Additionally, I used AI-assisted tools to:

• Refine brand language
• Generate SEO-friendly headlines and meta descriptions
• Optimize structure and consistency for user and search experience
